While all the bell tents are neatly packed away for winter and the Oak Lodge Glamping site rests, almost suspended for the winter months awaiting the bustle of next seasons Glampers to fill the air with wood smoke and bbq’s, alive with laughter and camping fun. Nature has taken back the field, leaves fall and winter has begun. The horses are delighted to have their field back and charge about with joy.
Then comes along the Chinese Spring festival, Chinese new years eve on January 24th 2020 celebrating the arrival of the year of the Rat. Oak Lodge has connections with Chinese culture and martial arts as Maeve is President of the International Zi Wu Men gong fu association and travels to China regularly to train with her teachers. Also a senior instructor in WPTCC and owner of the Norfolk school of Chinese Martial Arts.
What better place to hold the schools annual Chinese new year celebrations and reunion dinner. A tradition held in China where family get together to see in the new year together. Chinese hotpot was had here and went down a storm. A corner of Oak Lodge was turned into a lovely winter event.
